ARGH!

My little pirates wearing the coolest birthday card ever!  Thanks, Missy Soppy!  (Cecilia was trying to be Captain Hook - that's why she looks menacing!)

My little boy is 5!

This weekend was a big one at the wacky house - Sully's birthday was on Sunday, and he is officially a little man now at age 5!  We celebrated pretty much all weekend, starting with movie night at his school on Friday.  We saw The Lorax, and Sully was great - he sat and watched the whole movie! (Cecilia was a different story...)  On Saturday, Grammy and Grandpa came up to Grayslake and spent some quality time at our house before we all headed to Grandma's new Grayslake house for dinner, cake, and Sully's favorite - presents!

On Sunday, he got to have his first real out of the house birthday party for his friends at Bounces R'Us - it was a lot of fun, and I didn't have to clean the house!  The kids (including Uncle Rory) ran around like crazy, jumped in all the bounce houses, climbed the rock wall, put Mark in jail, and did a great job of wearing themselves out!  By the time we had pizza and cake everyone was pretty wiped!

Speaking of cake, didn't Batman turn out great?  Thanks Mom Willhite for saving the pan, and for being my frosting tutor and cake decorating expert!

After the party, Sully opened more presents and spent the evening raving about all his awesome new toys.  He said lots of thank yous, and seemed to be grateful for everyone's generosity...maybe 5 is the magic age and he'll start growing out of his extreme selfishness.  (One can dream....)

We had a fun weekend, and Sully and Cecilia both were on pretty good behavior considering the madness going on around them.  But I am still in disbelief that this giant boy...

no longer looks like this....

Where does the time go?????

My yearly post!

Greetings from Oz!  I figured it was about time to get back on my blog and share our Halloween cuteness with the world.  (I guess that's the only time I feel like we have somthing interesting to share.)  The costumes came together very easily this year, and my family looked pretty cute, if I do say so myself.  I looked a little dorky, but at least I went with the theme!  We did about an hour of trick or treating on Halloween in our neighboorhood, and we also got to go to a Halloween party at Sully's school in the morning.  So he pretty much wore his costume all day (straw and all!).  Cecilia has been in her ruby slippers every day since Halloween, so I guess it's proof that
"There's no place like home!"

Happy Halloween!  Catch ya again next year!  ;)

This is for Wendy :)

I realized that I didn't put up any Halloween pictures of just Cecilia, so I thought I better make it even. (She's definitely going to have that second child syndrome where she wonders why her baby book has only 2 pages filled out and there are only 2 blog entries about her...) Plus Wendy requested I post more often and I don't like to disappoint her!

I didn't put these up yesterday because I had taken them with my new camera when we went to the business trick or treat on Saturday. Cecilia proceeded to pull the camera out of my hand while the lens was open so now it won't close. :( I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get the pictures off, but at least the play function still works so I was able to retrieve the pictures and thus post them for your viewing pleasure. Next on my list: find out how to get the camera fixed...and hopefully with the warranty since we just got it in May. Grr.

Here's our little cowgirl:

Finally - a new picture!

So I've become the world's worst blogger. It just has become too much work. But I wanted to share our Halloween photos because I think we are pretty darn cute...and so wacky!

Maybe this will inspire me to do more posts now that I'm finally done spending all my spare moments making costumes. Totally worth it, though!

FYI - though Sully may seem incongruous as the Octopus, he is in fact part of the Toy Story theme. He chose to be Stretch from Toy Story 3 so that he could be one of the "bad" toys. And there are no pictures of Drogo because Mark wouldn't let me dress him up as Slinky Dog. He thinks I'm mean to put Drogo through the horror of costumes on top of the torture of trick or treaters attacking his house all night. (Plus I ran out of time to figure out how to do the costume. Drogo lucked out I guess.)

Family Photo!

I'm avoiding doing an official update because it will just take SO long, but I wanted the blog to at least LOOK updated, so here's a recent picture of us Wacky Willhites from our adventure to the Chicago Botanic Garden. We met my mom and her sisters and my grandma there and had a very lovely "Sunday Surprise" with the Gerrity girls. Sully is still talking about those fun Gerrity girls. (That's what he calls them, too - it's cute!)

It's Summer...Finally!

I know it's been ages since I've updated and there is so much to report on, but I just had to share these pictures because I am so excited to be able to take my crazies outside to run around and splash and burn off energy because we finally have our:

FENCE!!!!

Our yard is now fully fenced in so Drogo can go out to pee whenever he wants because I won't have to worry about him running down the street or biting the mailman. And Sully can run around and I don't have to chase him so that he doesn't go into the street! It just got done this morning, but already it's made my life so much easier - we were outside almost all day. The kids loved the pool and I love that they actually went to sleep without a fight tonight! So hopefully now that life will be a little less stressful I will be able to do some more catch-up posts - St. Patty's, Easter, baptism, birthday, etc. Yikes...I'm pretty behind. I blame Cecilia.
