ARGH!

My little pirates wearing the coolest birthday card ever!  Thanks, Missy Soppy!  (Cecilia was trying to be Captain Hook - that's why she looks menacing!)

My little boy is 5!

This weekend was a big one at the wacky house - Sully's birthday was on Sunday, and he is officially a little man now at age 5!  We celebrated pretty much all weekend, starting with movie night at his school on Friday.  We saw The Lorax, and Sully was great - he sat and watched the whole movie! (Cecilia was a different story...)  On Saturday, Grammy and Grandpa came up to Grayslake and spent some quality time at our house before we all headed to Grandma's new Grayslake house for dinner, cake, and Sully's favorite - presents!

On Sunday, he got to have his first real out of the house birthday party for his friends at Bounces R'Us - it was a lot of fun, and I didn't have to clean the house!  The kids (including Uncle Rory) ran around like crazy, jumped in all the bounce houses, climbed the rock wall, put Mark in jail, and did a great job of wearing themselves out!  By the time we had pizza and cake everyone was pretty wiped!

Speaking of cake, didn't Batman turn out great?  Thanks Mom Willhite for saving the pan, and for being my frosting tutor and cake decorating expert!

After the party, Sully opened more presents and spent the evening raving about all his awesome new toys.  He said lots of thank yous, and seemed to be grateful for everyone's generosity...maybe 5 is the magic age and he'll start growing out of his extreme selfishness.  (One can dream....)

We had a fun weekend, and Sully and Cecilia both were on pretty good behavior considering the madness going on around them.  But I am still in disbelief that this giant boy...

no longer looks like this....

My yearly post!

Greetings from Oz!  I figured it was about time to get back on my blog and share our Halloween cuteness with the world.  (I guess that's the only time I feel like we have somthing interesting to share.)  The costumes came together very easily this year, and my family looked pretty cute, if I do say so myself.  I looked a little dorky, but at least I went with the theme!  We did about an hour of trick or treating on Halloween in our neighboorhood, and we also got to go to a Halloween party at Sully's school in the morning.  So he pretty much wore his costume all day (straw and all!).  Cecilia has been in her ruby slippers every day since Halloween, so I guess it's proof that
"There's no place like home!"

Happy Halloween!  Catch ya again next year!  ;)
